Wood Turner. VAC Gallery Artist.

Karen Bryant-  Although a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Karen Bryant moved to Marlton New Jersey 1973. Later in life, while recovering from an illness, she began collecting woodworking tools and dabbling.  She became a serious woodworker within a few years and works to increase her skill and broaden her sense of what is possible.  Karen credits her love of woodworking to watching “This Old House”.  She approaches woodworking like working a jigsaw puzzle and then sets out to cut, arrange and finesse the wood into workable functional pieces.  Being a tactile personality with her love of exotic and local woods, she plies her craft to make traditional and contemporary pieces that reflect her sense of style.  With a blend of small and large pieces her body of work is growing.
